Brussels Tunnels – Web application & Project

Smoother traffic, improved user safety, less gas emission.

The city of tomorrow is connected, sustainable and safe. Throughout the year, Brussels Mobility inspects the condition of the capital’s tunnels. Based on these diagnoses, the administration schedules in depth maintenance work.

The client turned to Atracore to help them design an application for managing the interventions in the Brussels tunnels. This web application is a user-friendly approach that offers a clear vision on the maintenance of the entire tunnel structure in Brussels.

The platform consists of the main components:

•  an interface for users (companies) to encode their intervention tickets.
•  an interface for viewing all requests, accessible by both companies and DGE services.

This platform was set up as part of our tunnel closure planning market, starting in March 2018. Since its launch, it has recorded more than 17,370 requests for interventions. More than 230 people use this platform to make requests or to consult planned closures. This platform allows traceability of request and approval flows, it shares information online 24 hours a day.

Project description

The application provides the possibility for the companies to register in the web tool. Once the users receive a valid account, they will have the possibility to create requests for the tunnels selected when the corresponding company was created.

When a request is created an automatic email with the request is sent to the reviewer. For each request/tunnel the period of the intervention must be chosen. In case the selected date is out of range a flag will be displayed for that request and an email will still be sent to the reviewer with the possibility to accept or reject it.

The relations between company, tunnel and services is called Market.

For each Market the following are requested: the company and the corresponding responsible, the service that can be authorized and the tunnels that will benefit from this service.
